With the birth of the internet I would have thought that this would be the way of the future not only for people to communicate with others but also as a way of doing business. If the religious right feels online gambling is a danger, how about all the drugs that are available to the young kids on the streets as well as handguns which are already used by young adults in their street gang killings. My point is that there are more serious problems that are facing the youth of the United States and it is not online gambling. Another area are they so concerned about are those with gambling problems and addictions. For those going any distace it would be wise to have your emergency kit ready and checked in case of car problems as we never know when they may happen. It would be wise to pack some bigger candles, a tobacco can metal of course to hold them in, spare blankets, extra clothing especially warm footwear and more. Don't forget though to pack something to eat also for your journey and most of all let someone to know where you are going and when you will arrive, so they may watch out for you.

It is a beautiful day again in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for December 23, 2006. The only thing that makes Christmas a little disappointing this year is that we have no snow as of this time and none is expected. Without having snow it makes Christmas not to feel like Christmas as you look outside and everything growing is dead for the winter. At least when the grass is covered with 6 inches of snow it makes things to appear clean and vibrant, not the doom and gloom of everything brown and dead.
Anyway I am not going to not having any snow spoil my Christmas as there is a lot of other things that makes Christmas positive. Being with your family, sharing time together and rejoicing in the spirt of Christmas is what it is all about and we have that.

Well Christmas is only one day a way and I hope that everyone is in the Christmas spirit where we may enjoy our time together with our families and friends. For those of us that are fortunate not to have to be in places like our Canadian troops that are in Afghanistan or the American Troops that are Iraq or Afghanistan, say a little prayer for them that they may return home alive to their families and loved ones. When I think of how fortunate most of us are in Canada and the United States are as opposed to 2/3 of the worlds population, I must say we are lucky to be where we are. At least the majority of us have a good life with decent jobs, we eat well and we have the comforts of a safe and secure society.
The Christmas spirit is just not about celebrating Christmas it is also to be thoughtful of others around us and around the world that have less than we do. Myself I think that Christmas has been to commercialized since I was a kid back in the 1960's.
Today all Christmas is is advertisements on TV, its about how much big corporations may make off their products through mass media marketing. This time of the year gets a lot of people in trouble financially due to overspending, how to curb that is to set yourself a limit on what you will spend on presents at Christmas time.
That is my reasoning of the spirit of Christmas its not on how much money you may spend on a present or presents its the spirit of giving with love and intent. The old saying I remember from growing up is "Spare the rod and Spoil the child", well you give your children everything they want you then spoil them as adults as they repeat what they learn from their parents. Best to teach your kids in the first place that they can't have everything that they want.

Well it is Boxing Day today and we are over Christmas for another year. I must say my wife cooked up an excellent turkey dinner that was greatly appreciated by the family. The only thing we forgot were the cranberries but that isn't the end of the world. We had a rather laid back day yesterday as we all slept in and didn't open up presents until about ten in the morning. As we are all adults now it isn't as big of thing with gifts and it shouldn't be. Christmas presents since I was a kid was more about the kids and not the adults and that is the way it should be.
Anyway it was a beautiful day yesterday in Calgary, Alberta, Canada as we got up to +8 Celsius and what a beautiful day outside. The only bad thing we have no snow here in Calgary and everything still looks dead, hopefully we will get snow in the near future.

It has been a eventful year for me as I was totally new to the Internet a year ago. I must say that I have learned a lot from doing the first website to the one we about to complete which is our online dating website.
