Craps Rules

With craps rules the game of craps is played with a set of six sided dice which gives you the odds of 36 possible combinations. As you are Playing with only two dice your possibility of getting 12 is once in 36 rolls of the dice.

Looking at other combinations you will find that they are much easier to roll as you are able to make 7 with six different combinations, which gives you odds of 1 in 6 or 6 in 36.

Dice Chart of Combination Probabilities

Craps Rules

If you use the chart above you will have no problems of understanding the odds of combinations as well as understanding the basic craps rules. From understanding the chart you will understand the probabilities are rather symmetrical and everything revolves around the seven.

To calculate the odds it becomes fairly easy. If you want to know the odds of getting 4 are 3 in 33 chances, your odds are 1:11 then. Same for getting 7 are 6 in 36 or 1:6.

In the game of craps the craps rules state that the first roll that is made is called the come out roll. This first roll is done by the player throwing the pair of dice across the craps table so that they rebound off the opposite wall.

The shooter who is the dice thrower in a Craps game must first make a line bet which is either a pass line bet or don't pass line bet before throwing of the dice. If the come out roll is either a 7 or 11 -–a natural--, the pass line bet wins and the don't pass loses.

If the come out roll is a 2, 3 or 12 –craps—the pass line loses and the pass line bet wins or ties. A don't pass bet will be a tie if the come out bet is a 12.

If the come out roll is from 4-10 then that point becomes known as the shooters point. At this point a message is placed on the number which is the point on the layout. Any pas line or don't pass lines are in a state of limbo waiting for more action to determine the outcome.

The shooter will then keeping rolling the dice until one of two situations occurs. If the number has been rolled that is set to the point then the pass line bets win and the don't pass bets lose.

By chance if a 7 is rolled prior to the point number being rolled, the wins are then opposite. The pass line bet loses and the don't pass bet wins, And the round is over waiting to start a new round.

With crap rules a new round always starts with the same shooter until they sevens out. Sevening out is when you roll a point, and then after you roll a seven before the point is rolled again.

Overall understanding the craps rules is pretty well standard; I would more than recommend playing the free version of online craps if it is offered by an online casino.

It is always better to know what you are doing prior to playing for real money as you will feel more comfortable and relaxed if you fully understand the game of craps.
